What is the policy for bathroom breaks?

The children are allowed to go any time that they need to as long as an adult is present with them. A form must be signed allowing the assisting parent to help out the child in the bathroom if needed.
We understand that accidents happen so we do ask that all children keep a change of clothes at school (including socks) just in case whether it's a bathroom accident, snack spill, or just getting too messy with an activity.

What Snack and Drinks are suggested?

Snacks should be light and healthy.

Goldfish, pretzels, dry cereal, trail mix, and graham crackers work well. As for the drink juice and water always go over well with the children.

What if I can’t assist on the day I am assigned?

You can switch with another parent, just make sure that you let the Scheduler know.

If it happens to be on the morning of your assigned day, maybe you or your child is sick, there is an emergency parent for each class that you can call to take your place. (To sign up to be an emergency parent please see our forms page and fill out Emergency Parent.)

Can anyone pick up my child from school?

No. You will need to submit a “Child Pick Up Permission Form” at the beginning of the year so that the teacher knows who the child may leave with. The fermission form is located in our forms section of this website.

What are the rules about toys from home?

Please discourage your child from bringing toys to school. We do however know that sometimes that is an impossible task. The toys will be allowed to be brought to school but have to be kept in the child’s cubby.

Do you have to assist?

No. You have the option to be a non-assisting parent at an increased cost of the child's attendance. Since we are a parent run organization assisting helps to keep the overall school costs down through the "donation" of your time. Keep in mind that you can have parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles to help you with assisting. Each person who will be assisting will need a TB test done within the past two years in order to assist.

Are there field trips through out the school year

Yes. Exploring the world around us is exciting and important for preschool children. As part of our program, we may plan special days with people who can share their talents, occupations or hobbies with the children. We generally offer one field trip per month and each parent is responsible for the transportation of their child.

Is there transportation?

No. Families are expected to provide transportation for their child to and from school. However, car pools are encouraged.

Do you have to take a position on the Board of Directors?

No. If you do not hold a BOD position you must sign up to be on a committee.  We are a co-op school that is run by parents.  Everyone has a job to do in the school in order for the school to be run efficiently and cost effectively.

Different committees are:

Are you NYS Licensed?

We are a New York State registered non-public school. We renew our Certification every five years. Being Licensed is a term used more with Daycare not Preschool.
